In Memoriam of the Lives Lost at Virginia Tech University

~TRAGEDY IN AMERICA~

Another tragedy has occurred
In the sifting sands of time,
Lives of men and women have been lost
As a result of sin and a deranged mind.

No one suspected the day would be
The very last one they'd behold,
For these had plans and dreams for the future
Which they expected to unfold.

Our nation has had tragedies
As schemes of evil have been unveiled,
Bombings, massacres , buildings tumbling
Victims leaving loved ones behind, as they fell.

Wars and rumors of wars are seen
All across the land
Nation rising against nation,
Instead of joining hand to hand.

Many troubled minds
Have forsaken the One true God,
Fulfilling Bible prophecy,
In this land which we now trod.

When will it end, or men feel secure
Will there ever be peace and good will for all men?
The answer is found in the Prince of Peace
When people humble themselves, repenting of sin.

Why do we question these happenings
When we can see how America has strayed?
They've taken prayers out of our schools
Enforced ungodly laws, against God's righteous ways.

Life seems to have no value
In the eyes of many lawmakers
For they support shedding innocent blood
In God's eyes, they are law breakers.

Someone's brother, someone's child
Someone's friend or loved one needlessly died,
While a Nation watches in grief and agony,
As the signs of the end draw nigh.

Will America repent?
Will She humble herself and pray?
Will our Nation ever see a need to return
Back to God and truly seek His face?

When God's people who are called by His name
In spirit and truth, seek His face,
He'll hear from heaven and answer
As we walk in His holy ways.

What does the future hold?
No man on earth really knows.
But from the signs all around us,
We must all prepare our souls.

For we know not what the morrow may bring
Whether heartache, pain, or joy,
Only a soul that belongs to God
Will be secure, with a hope man cannot destroy.

As we lift up our prayers for the families
Of those who are grieved,
May people of all nations,
See a need to return to God and believe.

For, if we keep our minds stayed upon Him
He's promised to keep us in perfect peace,
What a blessed hope is ours,
When we know God's love, which will never cease.

With deepest sympathy to the families and friends of those
Who lost their lives in the recent Virginia tragedy.
