OUR
SOMEONE SPECIAL
Special things come in all shapes and forms;
Some are man made, machine-made, and some are
born.
Sometimes these special things cannot be
shared
For only you would think them dear and no one
else would really care.
But there was one we all held precious and
true,
Whose passing not only turned the City of
Memphis blue,
But the world he held in his hands
Now is wearing a broad black band.
Joy and happiness was what his life brought
us;
Now our overwhelming grief is what we discuss.
We felt he belonged to each of us alone,
But throughout the world his star has shone.
And, really, we shared him with each other
And knew deep down there would never be
another.
He came to us with the Winter’s chill
And left before the Summer was still.
He had gone from the “Hillbilly Cat” of
Tennessee
To the King of the universe for all eternity.
There was never one to be so beneficial;
Now you know, Elvis was OUR SOMEONE SPECIAL.
