Magic of
Memories
Remember when
only a babe,
In your
mother's arms you laid;
Seeking
security from all harm
As safely you
nestled in her arms?
Then came the
age of climbing trees,
Roller skating,
falling and skinning your knees.
Yes, we
remember these with ease
For this is the
"Magic of Memories."
Remember
getting dressed up for the first date,
Every hair in
place, and you couldn't be late?
Remember the
diploma that sent you into society,
Filled with
confidence, but much more with anxiety?
As you had been
told of all the possibilities
But were you
convinced the world awaited your abilities?
Yes, we
remember these with ease
For this is the
"Magic of Memories".
After many
years, everything fell into order,
But with such
monotony, the only thing you felt, was older.
Do you recall
now that at the same time, in another
locality,
A boy was
growing up to be the world's greatest
personality?
Yes, we
remember these with ease
For this is the
"Magic of Memories".
As your
thoughts slip back to another time,
Do you
remember, how for hours you stood in line,
With a ticket
clutched so tightly in your hand
For it was the
key, to open the door, to see this man?
Yes, we
remember this with ease
For this is the
"Magic of Memories",
Do you remember
that beautiful form and face,
And how you
dreamed of being held in his embrace?
Or how it felt
when you were one of the few
Lucky enough to
catch a scarf he threw?
Yes, we
remember these with ease
For this is the
"Magic of Memories",
Do you remember
when he walked on stage and began to sing,
How you felt
like you'd been hit by a bolt of lightning?
And no matter
how bejeweled his suits might be,
You'd think to
yourself, "even in rags, he'd be a sight to
see",
Yes, we
remember these with ease
For this is the
"Magic of Memories".
Though he has
gone on now to greater things,
Nothing can
ever stop our remembering,
The magnitude
of this candle's glow
As he lit up
our lives, show after show.
Yes, we
remember all of these with the greatest of
ease,
And we thank
GOD for the "Magic of Memories".
