A Message

Last night I saw a brilliant star,

It was high in the heavens, yet not too far.

It seemed to be reaching out to me

I stood there staring, enthralled by its beauty.

The sky was as bright as though it were day,

For the heavens were bathed with this star's rays.

As I stood watching, I knew it was a sign,

Reminding me, we were still on his mind.

It was his way of saying, "Do what you must,

My memory I leave with you, in your trust."

"I am at peace, this you must believe is true,

But only because of the millions like you".

"That though you of sight, they love me still,

And with their continuing devotion, I know they always will".

"It is said, I always did it "My Way,"

But in my heart I wanted it "His Way".

"Don't stop loving me as the years pass,

Please remember me to the very last".

"Remember how I loved you, each and every one,

Until my final day on earth was done".

"But my life is not over, not by any means,

It has really just begun, or so it seems".

"I am just as close to you now, only out of reach of your touch,

But I still love all of you very, very much".

Then the star dimmed, as the tears filled my eyes,

For I had just witnessed a portion of paradise.

This message to me was not taken lightly,

The star, I saw though the eyes of my heart, was

ELVIS PRESLEY, shining brightly.
